Homestyle Berry Pie

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a pie crust in a pie dish, either homemade or store-bought.

In a large bowl, combine 4 cups of mixed berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries) with 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.

Toss the berries until evenly coated with the sugar mixture, then pour them into the prepared pie crust.

Dot the berry mixture with 2 tablespoons of cold butter, cut into small pieces, for added richness.

Roll out another pie crust and place it over the berry filling, sealing and crimping the edges.

Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape during baking, and optionally brush with egg wash for a golden finish.
